UPCOMING TRAILS WORKSHOPS

Trail Bed & Tread Workshops

Sponsored by the PA Parks & Forests Foundation, and led by Penn Trails senior project manager Amy Lutsko, this two-day workshop focuses on a natural surface trail’s bed and tread planning, design and construction. The relationship between the trail’s intended use, the design parameters determined by the use, the materials and construction techniques utilized to meet the use and design parameters, along with ongoing maintenance of the trail, will be covered providing participants both expertly guided classroom learning and hands-on experience. Anticipated curriculum for each date available at the online registration link.

Classroom AND hands-on work are a feature of each session. Come prepared to be outdoors whatever the weather, to get dirty and to learn a lot!

Registration is $20 for the two days and class size is limited to 14 participants (first come, first served). Please plan to attend both days. Class will take place from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM each day.

Lunch and snacks provided each day. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and overnight accommodations.
